SALMON & BROCCOLI PUFF PASTRY TART

A simple tart with rich flavor: golden, savory and easy to share.

This salmon and broccoli tart is the perfect combination of flaky puff pastry, tender VÅRLAKS salmon and fresh green broccoli. Crisp on the outside and full of flavor inside, it is an easy dish that works for lunch, dinner or entertaining guests.

Ingredients: (serves: 4)

  • 1 sheet puff pastry

  • 2 VÅRLAKS salmon fillets

  • 200 g broccoli (small florets)

  • 150 g cream cheese or ricotta

  • 1 egg (beaten, for brushing)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 clove garlic (minced)

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • Salt & black pepper

  • Optional: fresh dill or grated Parmesan

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven
    Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan).
  • Prepare the broccoli
    Blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain well.
  • Prepare the pastry
    Place the puff pastry on a lined baking tray.
    Score a border around the edge, leaving 2 cm. Do not cut all the way through.
  • Add the filling
    Spread the cream cheese or ricotta inside the border.
    Top with broccoli and pieces of salmon.
    Season with garlic, lemon zest, salt and pepper.
  • Finish the tart
    Brush the pastry edges with beaten egg.
    Optional: add pastry strips on top for a lattice finish.
  • Bake
    Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
  • Serve
    Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Finish with fresh dill or Parmesan if desired.
